It’s been eighteen days since Hamas launched deadly attack on Israel that has claimed more than 6,000 lives so far on both sides. As the war intensifies, the Israel Defence Force has assembled around the Palestinian Enclave to carry out the ground offensive. In an update on the situation, IDF Chief, Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi informed that the military gathering around the southern border was ready to ‘invade’ Gaza. He added that IDF is now waiting for the ‘exact time’ for the invasion in coordination with Israel’s Government Office. The chief explained the preparedness of force and we quote, “At this stage, there are tactical and strategic factors which are allowing us more time to improve and to exploit every minute to be more ready.” Meanwhile, the Israel Air Force carried out airstrikes at multiple Hamas Buildings in the enclave. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already stated that the State has only one task at hand, which is to crush Hamas and it won’t stop till the objective is accomplished. With several Israel warnings to evacuate southern Gaza, residents have largely left the place. However, those who chose to stay back have been asked to stay indoors with their doors locked.
