Around 25% of India's population suffers from varicose veins. Under this condition, swollen, twisted vein lie just under the skin. They usually occur in the legs. For example, Hemorrhoids are a type of varicose vein that develops in the rectum. This condition often goes under diagnosed, but experts say non-surgical treatments can offer effective solutions. At the Indian Vein Congress (IVC) 2024, , over 100 medical professionals discussed the latest advancements in non-surgical care, including laser treatments. 
Chronic venous insufficiency occurs when your leg veins don't allow blood to flow back up to your heart. A Vascular Surgeon noted that chronic venous disease affects 20-35% of the adult Indian population and that endovascular procedures offer a simpler, pain-free treatment. The event also showcased new medical technologies that aid in non-invasive treatments. 
Experts agreed that while non-surgical methods are often effective, surgery remains necessary in certain cases. The event stressed the need for continuous learning to improve treatment outcomes for varicose veins.
