And the craze of this simple dish is now echoing beyond boundaries. Because of this, World Pakhala Day is celebrated every year on March 20th.  A day before the Pakhala Diwas, an organisation observed it in a unique way. Besides, to celebrate the soul food of Odisha, people in Cuttack have decided to have a weeklong Pakhala-Fiesta.
