In a historic moment for Odisha Police - two martyred commandos have been conferred with the prestigious Shaurya Chakra. The two jawans - Debashish Sethy and Sudhir Kumar Tudu had laid down their lives fighting the red rebels in Kalahandi district. The two bravehearts were commandos of the special operation group (SOG) which is a specialized anti-Maoist force in Odisha. The duo was conferred the gallantry award posthumously on the eve of Independence Day. The Director General of Police (DGP), Odisha, Abhay said that the conferment of the award is a proud moment for the Odisha police.
