Panic prevailed at Nandankanan zoological park after a tiger broke off the fence and escaped its enclosure on Thursday (Sept 2).

Sources said that the tiger named Suraj, escaped away from its enclosure while the zoo keepers were giving it food. After the information was revealed, the tourists and visitors within the premises were evacuated.

The authorities then closed the gates of the premises and launched an intense search operation to locate the big cat. However, the authorities later located the tiger while it was roaming around the safari. After heaving a big sigh of relief, the authorities captured the tiger and brought it back to its enclosure. As per sources, no visitors or zoo employees were harmed in the incident.
