Almost every sector has been severely hit by the pandemic. Needless to say, the entertainment industry was no exception and also faced an unprecedented turbulence since the virus outbreak. In a never-seen-before scenario, shoots were cancelled, sponsors pulled out, channels cut down their budgets and artistes had to deal with pay cuts. Even actors had to sit at home waiting for this never-ending pandemic to end.

Even as the cine and tele industry is trying to bounce back, artistes are facing massive pay cuts. Recently, there was a buzz that artists associated with Sony Television's 'The Kapil Sharma Show' have faced pay cut and are likely to face it again this time too. Well, comedienne Bharti Singh has corroborated this that she also faced pay cuts multiple times! As per reports, Bharti Singh, who is currently hosting Dance Deewane 3, had to accept the pay cut in her usual remuneration for The Kapil Sharma Show.

A report of the TOI suggests that she has taken a 70 per cent pay cut for Dance Deewane and around 50 per cent for The Kapil Sharma Show.

Though she did not comment on the exact figures, the comedienne said that everyone felt the pinch during pay cuts, and she was no exception. Bharti said that she did try to negotiate; however, she reflected on the recent times and decided to accept the cut. The comedienne also said that channels don't have fund as television and shows are not getting any sponsors. However, everyone is trying to get back on their feet, and she is hopeful things will sort out soon. Showing concerns for others, Bharti said the technicians should get full payment.

Almost after seven months, popular comedy and celebrity talk show 'The Kapil Sharma Show', is all set to return with its new season, with a revamped cast! The upcoming season of the Kapil Sharma Show will feature Bharti Singh, Kapil's old friends and famous comedians Sudesh Leheri, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Chandan Prabhakar. Meanwhile, the cast members of the show also received their shots of the COVID-19 vaccine before taking the audience back on a laughter ride again. The comedy show is likely to make a comeback in August this year on the Sony Television.
