To resolve the vaccine shortage crisis in Odisha, the State government will now tap into global vaccine supply chain. Director of Health Services, Bijay Mohapatra on Tuesday said that the acute shortage of Covid-19 vaccines can be resolved after the government floats global tender. This global tender will open ways to procure doses from various globally-approved leading vaccine agencies and manufacturers. As per reports, the State government would soon fix the modalities for the tender process. To supervise the entire process, two committees have been formed. The technical committee comprising health and finance experts would look into the quality and aspects. Then there will be a managerial panel that will take care of business and other aspects. The Director of Medical Education and Training Prof CBK Mohanty will head the ten-member technical committee, while the managerial committee will be led by OSMC Managing Director Yamini Sarangi.
