Schools all over the country have been shut for over a year now because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In many places, educational institutions have adopted the online method of teaching to impart knowledge. However, the sad truth is - delivery of education has been severely hit in areas where there is no internet accessibility.

Many students are unable to get a proper education due to lack of mobile phones, computers or internet. These students from Nabarangpur’s Umerkote area say they have almost forgotten all that they had studied earlier. Such is the situation that the students failed to say who the Prime Minister of the country is, or who their Chief Minister is.

They don't even remember the name of their school headmaster. With no alternative in hand, teachers and students have now urged the government to consider early reopening of schools. As per reports, more than 90 percent of students at Umerkote have no access to technology or gadgets for online classes.

Therefore, students and teachers are of the opinion that the situation would only improve after the government announces the reopening of schools.
