In an unfortunate incident, a major fire broke out in the Unit-1 market area, reducing several shops to ashes late night on Tuesday (Aug 31). As per reports, at around 10:45 PM last night, locals noticed thick smoke billowing from the market area.
Soon the inferno spread to as many as 7 shops. Later, locals immediately informed the fire station following which four fire tender from Kalpana and Lokseva Bhawan reached the spot and started dousing the fire. After toiling for several hours, the fire brigade teams were able to bring the fire under control.
However, as many as 2 shops were completely gutted while the other shops got major damages. Sources said that shops selling electrical items and snacks were blazed in the mishap. Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the fire was result of an electric short-circuit or arson.
