A woman from Rajasthan has proved that hard work and dedication can lead to great achievements. This is the story of Asha Kandar, who used to work as a sanitation worker with the Jodhpur Municipal Corporation (North).

A mother of two, Asha faced many hardships in life but then astounded everyone with her roaring success after cracking the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) in just one attempt. Asha got married in 1997, but had separated from her husband 8 years ago.

After her separation, Asha took up the work of a sanitation worker and also completed her under graduation simultaneously. Then in the year 2018, she appeared for the RAS exam whose results were declared on July 13, 2021. Asha says that the constant criticism and discrimination against her had pushed her to appear for the civil services exam.

However, with dedication, determination and a zealous attitude to achieve her goal, Asha cracked the exam with flying colours. Asha has now become the talk of the town, with praise and support pouring in from all quarters. Jodhpur Mayor Kunti Dewda appreciated Asha’s effort and expressed her elation at Asha’s feat.

While speaking about her children, Asha said that she wanted them to be good human beings and pursue any dream or goal that they set their minds on. She also emphasized that women from lower strata of society should never lose hope or give up their dreams. She said that women in distress should always dream for themselves and their families and that with hard work, patience and dedication, anyone can achieve anything.
