Days after businessman Raj Kundra's arrest over his alleged involvement in production of adult movies, Kundra's wife and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty finally decided to break silence. On Monday (August 2), the actress released an official statement on social media, where she made it clear that she has not commented yet and will continue to refrain from doing so.

Refusing to clarify her stand on the case, the 46-yr-old actress said that she will continue to refrain from commenting on this case as it is subjudice, and requested everyone to stop attributing false quotes on her behalf. Shilpa shared that the past few days had been 'challenging on every front' and there have been a lot of rumours, accusations, trolling and questions to her and her family.

Asking everyone to respect her family's privacy, Shilpa wrote that people should refrain from commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same. The actress further said that she is a proud law-abiding Indian citizen and a hardworking professional for the last 29 years. She also spoke about people's faith on her.

Please let the law take its course - Shilpa wrote this while ending her statement. Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 for his alleged involvement in the creation and streaming of adult movies.

The businessman is under judicial custody and the case is currently under investigation. It is to be noted that Shilpa approached the Bombay High Court last week seeking to restrain various media organisations from publishing any ‘incorrect, false, and defamatory’ content against her on social media and websites in connection with the scandal.

However, the court refused to gag media while noting that the freedom of press has to be balanced with the right to privacy of an individual.
