Puri Srimandir: Ailing Lord Jagannath & Sibling Deities Receive Fruit Offerings

To aid the recovery of the deities, this offering of fruits reached Puri Srimandir on Tuesday. The fruits have arrived from the Prachi Kshetra in a procession. The offering has been sent by Madhabananda Jew Temple in Niali and Biswamitra Matha of Kakatpur.

These fruits are sent as a part of the Anasara rituals, wherein the deities are nursed back to health after taking ill following the holy bath during Snana Purnima. After taking ill the deities remain confined to the Anasara Gruha for 15 days and undergo medication.
