Darshan at Puri Srimandir will now be allowed on Saturdays as well.
The decision was communicated by the Development Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Ajay Jena on Wednesday. As per the administrator, the darshan at Puri Srimandir has been eased further following the lifting of the the weekend shutdown restrictions in Odisha. Ajay Jena also informed that the darshan timings on all six days (except Sundays) have been extended from 7 AM till 9PM instead of 7 PM. According to the temple authorities, Sundays will be utilised for sanitisation work at the temple.
However, the Puri Srimandir will remain closed on Ganesh Chaturthi (September 10), Vishwakarma Puja and Baman Janma (September 17), Mahalaya (October 6), Dussehra (October 15) and on Kumar Purnima (October 20), the SJTA informed.
