Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on Friday to review the impact of Cyclone Yaas. As per reports, the PM will land in Bhubaneswar on Frinday (May 28) after which he will hold a review meeting in the capital city.

Then PM Modi will conduct an aerial survey in the affected areas of Balsore, Bhadrak and Purba Medinipur in West Bengal. This will be followed by the Prime Minister taking part in a review meeting in West Bengal. On Thursday, PM Modi chaired a meeting to review the impact of cyclone Yaas. As per reports, a detailed presentation was made on various aspects of preparedness, assessment of damages and related matters by the officials during the meeting.

Discussions were held on the execution of disaster management activities in the states. At least 106 NDRF teams were reportedly deployed with 46 teams each in West Bengal and Odisha. These teams reportedly rescued more than 1,000 persons and removed more than 2500 trees or poles that fell and obstructed the roads.

Earlier today, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen conducted an aerial survey of the Cyclone Yaas-hit areas of the State.
