Vaccine allocation for state should be in 95:05 ratio for government and private hospitals. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik put forth this demand before Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a virtual meeting on Friday, which discussed the Covid situation in six states. During the meeting, CM Naveen urged Prime Minister Modi to allocate 95 percent vaccines to State and reduce the quota of private hospitals to 5 percent citing that this move will increase the pace of the ongoing vaccination drive. The CM said that due to low presence of private hospitals in the state, the lifting of the vaccines from the 25% quota has been less. Patnaik said that Odisha has been performing very well in vaccination and the state's vaccine wastage is among the lowest in the country. With the possibility of the next wave having an impact on the children, Naveen Patnaik has requested the Centre to prioritise vaccination for the 12-18 year age group and initiate the move as early as possible.
