These are patients lying on hospital floor. Without beds, patients occupy whatever vacant space available on the floor in a bid to get treatment. This is the state of affairs at the Sambalpur district headquarters hospital.

Not only this, just take a look at the sanitation and cleanliness at the hospital. Spit marks have discoloured the walls and not very far from here, newborn babies and mothers are lying on the floor for treatment. This state of affairs at the hospital has raised concerns over infection.

On a daily basis, as many as 400 patients come to the hospital. However, since many days, the hospital is grappling with bed shortage and other issues. While the ADMO has said that they are looking into the sanitation and cleanliness at the hospital; the CDMO has accepted that there is a shortage of beds.
