The fashion route from the lanes of Rourkela to the streets of New York has not been easy for Odia fashion designer Bibhu Mohapatra. Couturing for the high and the mighty - from Priyanka Chopra to Jennifer Lopez, Bibhu’s most prominent works have been for Michelle Obama, the then Flotus. With a niche taste that Michelle is found attired on most occasions, Bibhu made sure he makes eclectic yet classic cuts, to make a mark. Speaking to OTV, Bibhu is all humility expressing gratitude to the people supporting him in his journey so far.
Asked about his experience working with Michelle Obama, Bibhu was seemingly elated. He said it was Michelle’s team that had contacted him for collaboration. Later, after learning about Michelle’s sartorial choices, Bibhu had started designing outfits for her and that propelled his designs and name to new heights.
