On Thursday, a low-pressure area was formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood under influence of a cyclonic circulation. Moreover, another low pressure is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and it’s neighbourhood around July 27.

This information was shared by the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar. Several places in Odisha are likely to witness rainfall activity till July 27 under the influence of this low pressure. As per the forecast, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are likely over East and adjoining Central and Northwest India during July 26th and 27th.

Meanwhile, in the next 24 hours, the Met office in Bhubaneswar has predicted Light to moderate rain or thundershower at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning has been issued on account of expected heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur.

Similarly, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Deogarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput.
