Though Odisha is passing through a spell of deficit rain, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershower.

The met office has issued a 'yellow warning' for thundershowers and lightning over 11 districts of the state in the next 24 hours. These districts include: Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

During the same period, Bhubaneswar might experience generally overcast sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower. The city is likely to experience maximum 35 degrees Celsius and minimum 25 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, no major warning was issued by the MeT Centre for farmers or fishermen in the state.

Meanwhile, the IMD has said that Odisha will continue to see deficit rainfall during the month of August and since June 1st, 33% deficit rainfall has been recorded in Odisha.
