Taking both the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine may reduce the severity in patients, but chances of them transmitting the virus is still very high. On Thursday (June 15), Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra made some shocking revelations while addressing the people on the partial lockdown and future action plan in state.

He said that most new cases detected in Odisha are of people who have already been fully vaccinated. Reiterating the importance of Covid protocols, the Chief Secretary alerted that even though the fully vaccinated persons are not at the risk of being seriously affected by the virus, they could transmit the infection among others.

In order to avoid the risk of infection from the fully vaccinated individuals, the Chief Secretary suggested people to abide by all Covid-19 protocols when they step outside their homes. Wearing of masks, and maintaining social distancing is essential to curb the spread of the infection, he said.
