Odisha Para Player’s Forum (OPPF) members staged demonstration before the State sports and Youth Services Department alleging apathy and discrimination by the government on Tuesday.
As per reports, in the year 2012, the Odisha government announced at par facilities to para-players similar to other athletes in the State. Moreover, the year 2016 the state government had also decided to provide direct category jobs to the para-players who won medals in various National, International, Asian, World Championship and Olympics competitions.
However, these para-players have alleged that despite these decisions of the government, the Odisha government has failed to keep its promises towards these players.
