While schools in Odisha are set to reopen for physical classes from July 26th, a decision regarding resumption of hostel facilities at the educational institutions is yet to be taken.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that a decision with regard to reopening hostels of Adarsha Vidyalayas and other institutions with hostel facilities will be taken in due course of time.

On Sunday, Minister Samir Dash held a meeting with all the District Education Officers (DEOs) to discuss measures for strict implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOP) issued for school reopening amid the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Speaking to the media, minister Dash informed that the department has appointed nodal officers for each district. These officers will conduct inspection at schools at frequent intervals to check whether cleanliness of the campus is ensured or not and also check that social distancing norms and other SOPs are being followed at the schools.
