Filing of applications for offline matriculation examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education (BSE) begins today in Odisha. On June 25, BSE announced the matriculation examination results adopting an alternative mode of assessment for awarding marks to students. However, dissatisfied with the results and alleging corruption during tabulation of marks, students and their guardians in large numbers held protests in different parts of the State. Following this, the BSE on Thursday (July 1) informed that the Board will conduct offline examinations for both regular and ex-regular students from July 30 to August 5 this year. The form fill-up for this offline examination begins today. The board has also announced that there would be no examination fee and that the score of the offline examination would be considered as the final result and binding on part of the candidate. In another notification, the BSE had informed that the candidates who had filed applications for the SOSC Examination, 2021 (1st), but were not satisfied with their results can also fill up forms for appearing in this offline examination. Apart from this, the candidates of State Institute of Open Schooling who have appeared at the SOSC examination in the years 2017 to 2020 but have not cleared the examination are also eligible to appear in this offline examination.
