In a shocking incident, a man allegedly murdered his sister-in-law and then sexually assaulted his mother-in-law following a family feud. This disturbing incident has been reported from Kiriburu under Balani police limits of Keonjhar district.
The accused had accompanied both the women to collect mushroom and red ants in a nearby forest area. Over reasons unknown, the man had a dispute with his sister-in-law. When the feud escalated, the accused attacked his sister-in-law and slit her throat with an axe. He then dumped the body in a 200 ft pit. Moments later, the accused allegedly tied the hands of his mother-in-law and sexually assaulted her in the forest.
However, the survivor managed to escape from his clutches and informed the Kiriburu Police about the incident. The Kiriburu police then reached the spot and informed the Balani Police regarding the matter. As per reports, a police team led by Barbil Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) reached the crime spot on Monday.
The body of the victim was recovered from the pit and sent to hospital for an autopsy. According to the police, an investigation into the matter is underway and a case was also registered. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused who is absconding after the incident.
