In a major decision, the Odisha School and Mass Education Department set on to promote 63,500 primary school teachers in the State. The department decided this in a review meeting held at Bhubaneswar and a detailed schedule in this regard was also prepared in the meeting.

As per reports, the Secretary of the School and Mass Education Department, Satyabrata Sahu chaired the review meeting in the presence of District Education Officers (DEO). Sahu informed through a press release issued by the Information and Public Relations department that all the blocks of Odisha were put under the ‘Mo School’ programme.

This program includes at least 32,447 schools in total. Moreover, all the DEOs were directed to address the issues regarding smooth conduct of Model Schools (Adarsh Vidyalay) in their respective districts. Apart from this, at least 1223 high schools in Odisha were taken under the programme.

Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Odisha will be given the responsibility of preparing mid-day meals and gardening works of various schools. According to sources, at least 15,000 Women SHGs in Odisha will be entrusted with this task.
