ASHA workers will now conduct door-to-door COVID survey from May 24. Children who have lost their parents to Covid will get free education. During an all-party meet on Monday, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a slew of proactive measures the government will initiate in the Covid battle. The CM said that ASHA workers will be conducting door-to-door survey for three months for which they will be provided with incentives. The Chief Minister’s office informed that the Gaon Kalyan Samitis will take part in efforts to contain spread of Covid-19 and they will be incentivised as well. Further, women who have lost their husbands, and children who lost their parents, will be covered under Madhubabu Pension Scheme. Moreover, the orphans will get free education. Speaking on the supply of oxygen in the State, Patnaik said that the government is ensuring flawless oxygen supply to the hospitals. A taskforce has been constituted to manage the refilling of cylinders and seamless transportation of oxygen. The CM said that the state needs to remain prepared for the long-drawn battle against the virus. He reiterated, vaccination is the main strategy to fight the virus.
