Smart city Bhubaneswar is among the top 10 liveable capital cities in India. According to the Ease of Living Index Report 2020, Bhubaneswar has emerged as the 4th best liveable capital city in the country. The Ease of Living Index Report is prepared by New Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).

According to the survey, Bengaluru was ranked as the Best Liveable Capital City in India; followed by Chennai, Shimla and Bhubaneswar under Ease of Living Index. However, Bhubaneswar has been ranked number one in the Citizen Perception Survey with the highest score of 94.8 out of 100. At least four parameters were used to determine the score on the Ease of Living Index Report.

The parameters include economic ability, quality of life, sustainability and citizens’ perceptions. Cities in India were given scores on all these four parameters out of 100. With its score of 59.85, Bhubaneswar has put cities like Mumbai and Delhi behind in Ease of Living Index.

Sharing the achievement on social media, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the civic body would continue to strive for the best.Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also congratulated the capital city for this achievement.
