A minor boy, who was swept away in river current in Pandua village in Dhenkanal district, was miraculously rescued in Endalaba village under Dharmashala Block of Jajpur district. The boy was rescued after he was swept away for almost 10 km in Brahmani River on Tuesday (Sept 14).

As per reports, the boy who was staying at his uncle's house had come to the bank of Brahmani river, to take bath. However, he lost his footing on the edge and slipped into the river. The villagers of Pandua village figured that due to the rising water level, it would be difficult to find the boy in the vicinity.

Thus, they got in touch with people at Endalaba village in Jajpur district and asked them to search for the boy in their area. After receiving information, a few villagers along with some social workers launched a search operation and set out in a boat to search for the boy.

After searching for over two hours, they spotted the limbs of the boy on water surface. Then they rescued the boy and rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
