The case of mysterious death of Paralakhemundi ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra is seeing new chapters unfolding every day. A diary that purportedly belonged to the late ACF has revealed some shocking details. The diary shared by the lawyer of Soumyaranjan’s family shows write-ups and excerpts that show the unbridled love of the late ACF for his wife Bidyabharti.

According to the excerpts in the diary, Soumyaranjan purportedly wrote that he was even prepared to quit job for his wife and become her servant. But, in return, he wanted Bidyabharti to be a good wife and his friend. A page supposedly written on February 23 read, “I will resign from my job. I will be servant to you. But I want a small place in your feet." The note also mentions that the deceased was ready to fulfil everything she wanted.

On February 22, Soumyaranjan had also purportedly written in the diary that he was ready to do everything for her but if anything happens after this, he will be helpless. Meanwhile, the driver of the ambulance carrying the critically injured ACF to the hospital on that fateful day said that a woman in police uniform stopped his ambulance for around 10-15 minutes at the forest gate till Bidyabharti reached the spot.

The driver said that when the ambulance was close to Gopalpur (near Berhampur), the ACF’s wife asked him to drive straight to SCB Hospital in Cuttack. Exclusively speaking to OTV, the driver of the ambulance revealed that the vehicle started from ACF's quarters at around 11:30 in the morning and reached Cuttack around 7 PM.

On Friday, a police team reached the office of Gajapati DFO Sangram Keshari Behera where the forest officer was interrogated under tight security. Earlier, the Crime Branch team had carried out searches at the late ACF's official residence. The Crime Branch team revealed that it found burn marks and some gutted things in the house where the officer was living with his wife.

Based on the burn marks and other evidence found, the DIG clarified that to be the crime spot.
