Door-to-door surveillance will help identify ‘hidden cases’ of Covid-19 in the state. Odisha Health Services Director Dr Bijay Kumar Mohapatra on Sunday said that the government is conducting an extensive integrated surveillance for a period of three months to trace the hidden cases, which will help curb the spread of the virus.
The senior health official said that there are many people who are hesitant to come out for testing despite having symptoms of Covid-19. This hesitancy has resulted in a number of hidden cases going unidentified, which in turn derails the contact tracing exercise.
He said that it will be possible to control the spread of the infection by identifying and isolating these hidden asymptomatic cases.
