The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination is scheduled to be held on September 12, 2021. However, students have taken to social media platform Twitter demanding postponement of the examination. In fact, a poll conducted by a national news portal (TimesNowNews.Com), revealed that as many as 88% students want postponement of the exam.
According to the students, the dates of NEET 2021 are very close to the CBSE 12th Board Exams 2021 for Physics and Maths subjects. Moreover, the ICAR AIEEA 2021 exam is also scheduled to be conducted on September 13.
According to media reports, numerous students are requesting a gap period between these exams and are seeking postponement of the examination by at least 20 – 25 days. However, experts, quoted by the national media (TimesNowNews.Com), have raised concerns over further delay in the examination.
According to experts, it is important to conduct the exam while the time permits as the exams have already been delayed quite a bit due to the current pandemic situation. Experts opine that it is important to complete admission cycle by December for which it is important to conduct the examination on the scheduled date. Speaking on the CBSE exam dates clashing with NEET exams, experts said that the number of students appearing for CBSE exams is quite few and it should not be a roadblock.
