A scuffle broke out between the police and the activists of the students’ wing of Congress, who launched a massive protest on Tuesday (Sept 7).

The protestors were on their way to gherao the Odisha Assembly alleging corruption in Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) recruitment. As per reports, the students staged a demonstration at the Lower PMG area in Bhubaneswar, demanding the government to bring OSSC under the purview of investigation.

The student activists of the party also demanded the dismissal and arrest of Odisha Law Minister Pratap Jena in connection with the sensational Mahanga double murder case. While the agitators were on their way to gherao the Assembly, police intervened to stop them resulting in a scuffle.
