In a major move, India’s largest IT services provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is going to hire freshers throughout the year to deal with rising attrition. Referring a financial daily, a national news portal (Timesnow) reported that many IT services firms including TCS, have started staggering their intake of freshers all round the year.

Such a step in being taken as attrition rate in the industry is rising. As per the report, TCS has plans to hire over 1 lakh freshers through the course of the year to deal with a talent crunch and adapt to the changing business dynamics.

Meanwhile, the IT firm has been selecting trainees through its National Qualifier Test (NQT) for the last few years. The report quoted the global head-talent acquisition at TCS, Girish Nandimath saying that the company will conduct the National Qualifier Test (NQT) every quarter helping them to bring talent into the country all throughout the year.

And, this process has enabled the company to tap into the talent pool and to reach, attract, and qualify talent entering into TCS, Nandimath added. There seems to be a pattern emerging as even another IT major Persistent Systems has said that they are also changing their recruitment strategy.

The chief people officer at Persistent Systems Sameer Bendre said that business dynamics and the skill demand upsurge has elevated hiring to a regular activity all 365 days a year. According to Persistent Systems, the company has increased its fresher intake to build talent pool.
