For years, Indian Idol has been one of the most popular singing reality shows on Television. And when you have Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar, and Vishal Dadlani to judge some amazing contestants roped in from all parts of the country, the show promises magic and has potential to hook the viewers on to the TV screens for hours. However of late, the ongoing season 12 has been in daily headlines for all wrong reasons.

Not only does the audience look disturbed with some of the performances, but the statements by Amit Kumar, Sunidhi Chauhan and others on how the makers asked them to praise contestants even when they performed badly, has caught everyone’s attention. Indian Idol winner Abhijit Sawant also commented that the show is focusing more on extra elements like hardships of contestants, instead of singing. Amid all the controversies, latest reports suggest that judge Vishal Dadlani will not return to the show.

According to sources, Vishal Dadlani did not travel with the Indian Idol team when they moved to Daman for the shooting of the show. As per reports, due to the COVID lockdown, the Indian Idol team moved to Daman for the shooting of the show. However, the music composer who has been the Indian Idol judge for over three seasons now, did not travel with the team to Daman. Sources said that Vishal will not join the show till the state unlocks.

Meanwhile, show host Aditya Narayan has informed the media why Vishal is unlikely to come back to the sets. Aditya said that Vishal has shifted to Lonavala last year with his parents and doesn't want to take a risk with their health. The shooting was done for one month and has now returned from Daman to Mumbai.
