Heavy rainfall might occur over North Odisha districts between September 19 and 20, owing to a possible low pressure forming in the Bay of Bengal (BoB).
This information was given by the Director General (DG) of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Thursday (Sept 16).
The IMD DG stated that currently a cyclonic system has formed in the East-Central Bay of Bengal (BoB) and nearby Myanmar area which will then move towards North Odisha, where it will lay centred around 18th of this month.
This system which might form into a low pressure area will cause heavy rainfall to occur at some places in the North Odisha districts during that period.
Meanwhile, the IMD Chief predicted no heavy rainfall in Odisha today (16 Sept) and tomorrow (17 Sept).
