Large tracts of land are on fire along the Mahanadi River bank in Nayagarh district. As per reports, the fire broke out in the forest along the Mahanadi bank. This fire was reported from Gania block area of the district. As can be seen, fire has engulfed large tracts of the forest and it is said that the fire has been raging for the past two days. It is suspected that this fire could have been ignited deliberately by a miscreant. Locals along with the Fire department officials have been trying to bring the fire under control.
