Artists are busy making Ganesh Idols in the Temple City Bhubaneswar ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.

There are artists from West Bengal who come to Bhubaneswar for four months to make these idols to cater to the festive demand. After facing hardship for the past two years, these artists and idol makers expect business to bounce back. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has already issued guidelines for Ganesh Puja restricting public participation and other celebratory activities except rituals. Height of Ganesh idol has been capped at four feet.

These idol makers are making idols following all the COVID19 guidelines and ensuring that the height of idols is not more than 4 feet. Though in normal times, they receive orders for around 200-250 idols, the pandemic has affected their business and they are now seeing around 100 orders.
