Only fully vaccinated persons with double doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be allowed to enter to religious institutions in Bhubaneswar. In an order, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed the same on Tuesday.

The civic body directed the religious institutions authorities to allow only fully vaccinated persons to enter Temples, Mosques, Churches, Gurudwaras etc. According to the Order, the current order of the BMC comes in view of the current pandemic situation and vaccination coverage in the capital city. Moreover, the entry of fully vaccinated persons into religious institutions will be ensured by the authorities of respective institutions.

The order also read that a person can produce a soft copy of the fully vaccinated certificate in mobile phone for permission to enter the institutions. Apart from this, the BMC enforcement team will conduct frequent checks to ensure the adherence of the guidelines in these religious institutions. BMC also instructed in the order that any religious institution found violating these provisions will be viewed seriously and the concerned institution will not be allowed to function.

Earlier, BMC directed all places of worship in the Capital City to reopen from August 23 with strict observance of COVID-19 safety protocols.
