These are times of unprecedented crisis and in such hours of need, humanity is faltering more often than not. A body of a 74-year-old-woman was left unattended on the verandah of her house after the neighours, relatives and villagers refused to come forward. The incident was reported from Belapada village in Binika region of Subarnapur district. The deceased was identified as Sushila Behera, who tested positive for covid-19 on May 2 and was under home quarantine. However, she passed away at midnight yesterday. Following her demise, the neighbours & relatives were reluctant to assist in the cremation. After being informed, administration authorities reached the spot after 13-long-hours and the body of the woman was cremated. The victim’s son has also tested positive for Covid-19 and is admitted to the ICU of Bolangir hospital.
