Covid19 Lambda Variant Cause Of Worry If It Turns Into Variant Of Concern: Odisha Health Expert

Peru reported highest deaths per million in the world when the Lambda variant was active last year in South America. Speaking on the severity of the Lambda variant of Covid-19, Odisha health expert Dr Niraj Mishra informed that this is now a variant of interest, but once it turns into variant of concern, then that would be a big reason to worry.

Niraj Mishra said that the Lambda variant was detected in South Africa last year and caused highest deaths per million in the world in Peru. According to the health expert, the variant's genome sequencing is underway in UK while its severity is still unknown.
