Even though the cases are reducing in the state, the deaths will decline only after some time owing to the time-lag between infection and death. This information was given by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Chief, CBK Mohanty on Monday (July 7).

The top Health official explained that there is always a lag period between the time when a person contracts the infection and death, based on the treatment received. He clarified that going by this calculation; the death rate will reduce after some time following the reduction in number of cases.
