Latest findings suggest that the third wave of Covid-19 will be a ripple if there is no faster-spreading mutant. The third wave may affect at least 50,000 to 1 lakh people, informed Odisha Health Expert Dr Niraj Mishra on Sunday. According to the health expert, the third wave of the pandemic will arrive in the second week of August and hit peak in the month of October and November this year. Citing projections, he said that the third wave will be a small ripple following the second wave and will be comparatively less impactful. However, the health official has pointed that restrictions should not be lifted now and there is a need to continue curbs for a few more months, at least till November to ensure protection of all.
