Odisha on Sunday witnessed a slight downtrend in the daily infections with the detection of 7002 Covid positive cases in the last 24 hours. However, the death rate continues to remain high as the disease claimed 42 lives during the period, the highest single day fatality recorded since the onset of the pandemic.

As per I&PR data, 3,921 cases are from QUARANTINE, rest 3,081 cases are LOCAL CONTACTS. ACTIVE CASELOAD in Odisha stood at 78,031 after today’s surge. KHORDHA tops daily infection chart with 1,167 new cases, CUTTACK next with 771 positives. Odisha’s cumulative Covid-19 POSITIVE TALLY stands at 8,13,096. 7,616 patients RECOVERED from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. Till date, as many as 7,32,018 Covid patients have RECUPERATED in the state.
