As many as 15 students of BJB College in Bhubaneswar sustained injuries after a violent clash broke out between inmates of two hostels on Thursday (September 2). The altercation also resulted in students ransacking hostel property.

Immediately after the incident, police forces were deployed on the campus to bring the situation under control. As per reports, the violent scuffle took place between inmates of Kharabela and Ambedkar hostels of the college.

The students at Kharabela hostel alleged that the Ambedkar hostel inmates ransacked their hostel property following an altercation that had transpired the previous day between inmates of both the hostels.

As per allegations of Kharabela hostelites, in spite of police placating both parties the previous day, the Ambedkar hostel students launched an attack today.

However, Ambedkar hostel inmates counter-alleged that the students of Kharabela hostel ragged some students of their hostel, which eventually led to the scuffle. While police or college authorities are yet to respond, reports suggest that the two groups are ready for a compromise.
