In a major decision, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) announced 30% reduction in syllabus of Plus-2 students for the second consecutive year in 2021. The decision was taking during CHSE’s Academic Council meeting on Thursday (August 26).

As per the revised syllabus of CHSE Plus-2 students in Odisha, three terminal examinations will be conducted for each of the first and second year students. The terminal examinations will be held for 30 marks in every quarter for both the years of which 20 marks will be reserved for theory and 10 marks for practical.

The terminal examinations will be conducted by respective colleges. Apart from this, annual examination will be conducted at the end of both first and second year of Plus-2 students.

In case examinations are not withheld due to Covid-19 situation, evaluation of results will be based on marks obtained in annual examinations. However, if examinations are withheld amid Covid-19 scare, then the result of students will be based on terminal examinations.

The decision on revised syllabus for the academic year 2021-22 comes amid the ongoing crisis of second wave of Covid-19 and related interruption in completion of syllabus.
