The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently launched ‘Reading Literacy' - a Practice Book for students of classes 7 to 10, to enhance critical and creative thinking. The Board has welcomed students to a world where they can explore a wide variety of authentic and diverse material on interesting themes, ranging from food, travel, sports, movie reviews, quotations, cartoons, posters, blogs, Instagram posts and more.

The practice book gives an opportunity where students can engage with a variety of texts in a self-learning mode, and is expected to help students learn the nuances of the English language in an innovative, engaging and functional manner. This practice book for students for English consists of five units. The CBSE informed that the navigation in the book has been made easier by interconnecting various sections through interesting dialogues between two characters. According to the CBSE circular, the resource material is an attempt to help learners explore the wealth of language in a self-directed and systematic manner.

The question types provide them with ample opportunity to think, evaluate, consider and express. Students can access the practice book on the CBSE’s Academic site www.cbseacademic.nic.in
