The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not declare the Class 12 board examination results of students who did not appear in the pre-board and half-yearly exams. The Board has recently issued a circular in this regard and has asked schools to follow the directive for awarding marks to students.
As per reports, several schools had earlier informed the Board that some students in their school were not available for examination or computation of result at the time of submission of LOC as they had already taken their Transfer Certificate (TC). Apart from this, there were students who ceased to be a bonafide student of the school due to other reasons such as demise, name struck-off cases and more.
Also, there were a few students who could not be contacted by the school for various online/offline tests/exams/assessments during the academic year, and it was not possible for schools to conduct required assessments later. According to CBSE, in all such cases, the board has asked schools to mark these students ABSENT so that their results are not declared.
Further, the Board mentioned that data in respect of these students may not be submitted by awarding the ZERO MARK or mentioning anything else against their names. Last Thursday, the CBSE board had also issued a notice asking schools to take into account several references to the tabulation policy for Class 12.
