The Odisha government has informed that schools will be reopened for Class 9 students from August 16 for the 2021-22 academic session.

Though a notification, the government said that it has decided to allow resumption of physical classes in schools for Class 9 students of government, government aided and private educational institutions who are supposed to appear the examinations under BSE, Odisha, CBSE, ICSE and other Boards recognised by the state government.

The teaching hour for Class-IX students will be from 9 am to 12.30 pm., excluding Sundays and public holidays. The government has clarified that the students are free to attend classes either in online mode or offline mode in consultation with their parents.

Attendance will not be mandatory for students attending classes in offline mode. Further, the government has said that the hostels for Class-IX students will also start operating from August 16, and the earlier SoP issued will be followed while opening these hostels.

However, the guidelines issued by Health & Family Welfare Department and SRC from time to time will be followed strictly. Besides, all the stakeholders have to follow Covid appropriate behaviour scrupulously, the government has said.
