Over the years, many celebrities have admitted to the fact that casting couch is not just a reality in the TV and film industry but that it happens everywhere, in almost every sector. But most of the cases which come to the national limelight are from those of the TV and cine industry.

Recently, Television actress Aradhana Sharma, popular for her stint in Splitsvilla and who has also appeared in Sab TV sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah, dropped a bombshell when she spoke about some unspeakable experiences of having faced casting couch.

Recalling the traumatizing casting couch incident, Aradhana during an interview to ETimes, revealed how a person she had met for a casting opportunity made inappropriate advances and gave her a lasting traumatic experience.

The actress revealed that the way the casting agent touched her while reading a script, she was quite uncomfortable. She told the leading daily that because she was doing modeling assignments, she was known to the casting agents. Aradhna said that the incident happened some 4-5 years back in her home town Ranchi. The agent was casting for some role and just when they were reading some script of a love scene, he allegedly tried to touch her. Aradhna’s immediate reaction was to push him away and run out of the room.

The actress said that the incident affected her mentally. She started having trust issues and felt uncomfortable everytime she was alone in a room with a man.

Aradhana had a cameo role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, but she says the show brought her recognition and love from people. Before joining the cast, Aradhna had featured in 'Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hi Hoga' in which she played Sultana Tammana.
