Bogies of a goods train on its way to load gypsum from PPL (Paradeep Phosphates Limited) derailed late on Thursday night. According to sources, 4 bogies of the goods train derailed in front of the main gate of Paradeep Phosphates Limited. Though Railways authorities are at the sport to probe the incident, the cause of the derailment is yet to be established. It is suspected that the mishap could have occurred because of empty bogies which could have jumped off the track after coming in contact with some stones on the track. However, no official confirmation has been received from the Railways authorities and the technicians who are inspecting the incident. Sources informed that as the railway line belongs to Paradeep Phosphates Limited, there has been no disruption in the movement of trains on account of the incident. Sources said that train movement into Paradip Port has not been affected as the incident happened on the line dedicated to Paradeep Phosphates. Meanwhile, efforts are on to remove the derailed bogies from the tracks.
